In 2023, we helped defend the Virginia State Senate majority and build a new majority in the House of Delegates. This year, with no elections in the Senate and a statewide race for governor, we see a chance to build the nation’s newest pro-democracy trifecta by defending the one-seat House majority.

Chalk It Up for Democracy is a Lynchburg, VA based Giving Circle led by two sisters-in-law and activists focused on building hope and impact in their community. They first began working with The States Project in 2024.

United Flippin’ States is a Giving Circle based in Charlottesville, Virginia, that first began working with The States Project in 2019. Their efforts were born out of a desire to live in a state that trusts its people to make their own decisions about everything from healthcare to the books they read.

We Dissent is based in Chevy Chase, Virginia, and has been working with The States Project since 2020. They are led by a high school social studies teacher who decided to use her breadth of history and civic knowledge to activate her network in support of state legislative races in her state.

Virginia is for Book Lovers is led by a Virginia-based book club that decided to use the power of their community to impact Virginia state legislative races. They first formed a Giving Circle with The States Project in 2023, and are back with us in 2025!
