On May 16, we defend the Pennsylvania House Majority!
In 2022, The States Project invested nearly 80 times the next largest group to help win a majority in the Pennsylvania House for the first time in 12 years.
The new House majority is at risk once more in a special election on May 16. One seat stands between holding or losing a majority of state lawmakers committed to safeguarding democracy, protecting personal freedoms, and improving Pennsylvanians’ lives.
These Pennsylvania-based Giving Circles are working with The States Project to hold the Pennsylvania House. With the fundraising deadline just around the corner, these Circles need your help to close their gap — so let’s get them over the finish line!

Across State Lines
Across State Lines is led by four women who met on the internet and decided to take focused, strategic action in Pennsylvania, where one of them currently lives. In 2022, Across State Lines raised more than $10,000 to fuel the new majority in the Pennsylvania House. Motivated by the fact that this Special Election will determine control of the chamber and have huge ramifications for abortion access, voting rights, and more, they’re working to preserve the power they helped build in the Pennsylvania House.
Wake Up PA
Wake Up PA is led by four Pennsylvanians who helped to build the new House Majority last November. After learning that their state lawmakers drive every issue they care about — from quality, affordable healthcare to abortion access to voting rights — they launched their Circle to activate their friends, family, and neighbors to create impact in critical races. They’re working to ensure that the majority they helped build, will hold.
